As is well known throughout the industry, skilled home health care in Wisconsin is facing a workforce shortage crisis, which is threatening patient access to care. The growing problem has been sparked by stagnant Medicaid reimbursement rates for skilled nursing care in a home health setting. To draw long-overdue attention to the matter and encourage lawmakers to address the issue in the state budget bill, WiAHC members have written an opinion article to effectively capture the situation.
